Join us for the first ever Chicago screening of the critically acclaimed film The Grief of Others with writer, director and producer Patrick Wang. Based on the novel by Leah Hager Cohen, The Grief of Others follows a family reeling from the loss of their newborn and the unexpected visitor who spurs them out of isolation, bringing them even closer together. The film premiered in 2015, at SXSW and had its international premiere at Cannes. Tim Sika of the San Francisco Film Critics Circle called it "a richly meditative, beautifully rendered work of art about loss and how it connects us." A filmmaker conversation and audience Q&A moderated by DePaul cinematic arts faculty member James Choi will follow the screening.
Friday, April 8, 2016 6:00PM - DePaul University's CDM Theater (247 S State St, Lower Level)
